Violet Wand

The violet wand is a common toy used for electrical play.
The toy creates a shocking feeling through static electricity,
and can provide a wide range of sensations from tame to extreme.
The violet wand is comprised of a base/handle that plugs into an electrical outlet,
and various attachments made out of glass or metal.

Historically, people made claims that violet wands could cure everything
from baldness to cancer.
Of course, this was completely untrue.
You can still find vintage versions of the violet wand in many oddity and curiosity shops.
Modern violet wands can be found in many upscale sex toy shops
and through online retailers.
Another version of the violet wand is called the Neon Wand.
It is similar to the violet wand,
in that it provides a shocking sensation.
The primary difference between the violet and Neon Wand is the inner core.
The Neon Wand is made with a solid-state metal core rather than a tesla coil,
allowing it to create slightly sharper sensations than the violet wand.
The Neon Wand generally has less range than the violet wand,
and is often significantly cheaper for the base kit.

8 Violet Wand Sensations You Need to Try

By Mistress Kay,

Safety First!

Designed as, quite literally, a wand that you hold it in your hand,
the tip of a violet wand allows the user to plug in electrodes made of glass or other-materials.
While the handle of the wand makes the electricity underneath the hand-friendly grip,
the electricity will flow through the electrode that's attached
- and the wand holder can touch the electrode to the skin of the receiver
to transmit some pleasurable electric sensations!
Many newbies to this pleasure compare lower settings to the erotic feeling
of someone's fingernails gently scratching your skin.
The higher power levels on certain wands are intense enough to brand the skin.
So, of course,
safety and knowledge of what you're doing is of the utmost importance.

When starting to play with a violet wand,
you need to ensure that you know a bit about how it works and how to play.
Violet wands transmit electricity when there is space between the wand itself
and your recipient's skin.
They don't transmit electricity when the wand is actually touching the skin.
This means you'll need to lightly move the wand along the skin
- but not touch the skin.
You can even watch the spark “jump” between the wand the receiver.
When starting any sort of violet wand scene,
ensure that you start on some of the gentlest settings that the wand offers.
Go back to the gentlest settings anytime you switch electrodes,
sensations, or move to a new area.
As your partner seems comfortable with that sensation,
you can gradually increase the intensity.
Make sure to regularly check-in with your partner,
of course,
but listening to their moans and shivers of happiness
should be a good indicator that they're enjoying the power setting you're currently using.

As thrilling and erotic as playing with electro - sex can be,
you need to ensure both you and your partner are up for it.
Have a lengthy health conversation before touching any type of electro-sex.
Does your partner have piercings?
Do they have any health issues - especially concerning the heart?
Do they have an IUD or any other metal parts inside of their body?
If they're dressed, do they currently have any electronics on them?
Are they sensitive to electricity?
Have they had any bad experiences with any type of electricity before?
Pacemaker?
Possible pregnancy?
Make sure to consult an electro-sex safety guide
and be familiar with all of the safety concerns
before you even think about playing with electricity.
Electricity is rewarding and can be orgasmic,
but never forget that it can also be dangerous.
Have a first aid kit handy as well.
It's unlikely that you'll need it, but it's best to be safe.
 Just remember,
anytime you switch to a new electrode or sensation,
make sure you reduce intensity and gradually increase it all over again.
Now that you know the basics of an electric wand,
isn't it better that you know all of the unique ways you could have fun with it?
While a standard violet wand and its glass electrodes can offer hours
of entertainment on their own, kinksters  are a creative bunch.
There are a whole lot more ways you can use your electrified toy!
If you're looking to try something new,
consider some of these interesting sensations.

Hands-On Touch

Easily the most versatile tool on this list and required for many other toys,
adding "hands-on" touch
is one of the most enjoyable ways to play with an electric wand.
By using a body attachment (called the "Power Tripper" on the Neon Wand line),
it allows an entire person's body to become the wand!
Connect the cable to the wand and slide the probe fully against someone's skin
(against underclothing or a pant's waistband works well),
and there's no reason to hold onto the wand istself anymore -
every time the person touches something,
 their touch will be electrified!
You can use this for foreplay, for spanking, for sensual teasing, and more!
Take care with this type of play.
While you normally need to know the receiver's health history for electro-sex play,
this attachment will require knowledge about both partner's health.
Ensure that the giver doesn't have any particular concerns
that would make them unsuitable for electro-sex play.
Be aware that you may need to have a shorter electro-sex session
than when using a wand by itself as well.
All of the electric sensations will also be felt by the giver too.
Depending on their tolerance for the sensation,
it may require taking a break a bit earlier.
When using a body contact probe,
anyone and anything can be electrified!
Try this fun party trick that almost every electric wand owner has tried
by making a human chain.
Have the person wearing the body contact probe grip firmly onto another person.
Now this next person will also have an electrified touch.
They can touch other people for an electrified sensation
- or they can grip firmly onto another person to continue the "chain."
Be aware that the resulting electrified sensation will start to weaken
as every new person is added to the chain.

Electro-Friendly Floggers

You already love flogging.
Now you can add sensational, electrified enjoyment
every time the flogger is swung!
While you won't be able to experience hide materials like suede or leather,
electro-sex floggers may be made out of
metal bead chains, mylar, or other conductive materials.
While the flogger tails themselves won't make sensation when resting against the skin,
it's that small gap between the tail and the skin that makes the sensation electric!
Of course,
you get that sensation, multiplied by how many tails the flogger has,
every time the flogger is swung.
It's certainly much more interesting than using an electric wand by itself.
Most electro-sex friendly floggers will require the body contact probe,
or Power Tripper as mentioned above.
Those types of floggers tend to be the most durable.
However,
some suppliers offer a flogger electrode that plugs straight into the wand itself.
You'll want to be very, very careful with an electrode flogger
to avoid damaging your wand during play.

Wartenburg Wheel

If you have a limited budget,
the Wartenburg Wheel offers a brand new type of sensation
while requiring very little money.
While this tool requires a body contact probe (mentioned above)
in order to electrify the toy by holding it,
the toy itself is relatively cheap and can also be used without your wand
for a neat, versatile toy.
Each one of the spokes will press individually into the skin with a sharp shock
before and after each press.
If you love the sensation of nails along your skin,
you'll most likely love this toy.
Just be sure that you keep the intensity on a lower power
as metal conducts electricity particularly well.

Electro-Friendly Rope

Do you enjoy rope bondage
and want an easier way to incorporate it into your electro-sex play?
Welcome to electric wand rope!
The fibers of the rope are braided with conductive materials.
This means the entire rope will conduct electricity along its length!
Enjoy tying your partner up and pressing the wand to the rope.
The rope will conduct the electricity to every spot where it's tied!
Of course,
this requires a bit more forethought
to avoid putting rope near unsafe areas such as
piercings, the face, or any other sensitive spot,
but once you get everything worked out,
this can be an amazing new way to experience electro-sex - and rope bondage !

Metal Finger Attachments

When used with a body contact probe,
those "claws" that slide over the fingers can be particularly intense.
Since each claw comes to a point that's sharper than most people's nails,
these claws can add an entirely different sensation for the recipient
 - and can easily cause scratches and marks.
(Just make sure that's what your partner wants!)

Head Scratcher Electrode

While you'll most-likely need a wand that can function while upside down
(not all can!),
you can totally purchase an electrode that attaches to your wand
that's shaped like one of those head scratchers.
Use it on kinkier parts of the body or use it (on very low power!)
to add a bit of a zip to a standard head scratching.

New Glass Electrodes

If nothing else,
it's extremely simple to change up the basic sensation of your wand
just by changing up the electrode attached to your wand.
While most wands come with standard glass electrodes,
you can always choose to pick up new electrodes.
Other electrodes include electrodes for branding,
electrodes with a roller,
electrodes shaped like combs,
electrodes meant for zapping,
electrodes for a light saber look, and more!

Anything Metal You Can Find!

To put an end to this list,
you just need to know that your imagination is the limit!
When used with a body contact attachment,
anything that's conductive can provide a sensation.
I've seen people use cookie sheets as spanking paddles while using their electric wand!
Make sure to do some light experimentation with your potential idea
before going all-in, but feel free to get creative.

Uniform Play

Uniform play refers to sex play that employs uniform clothing
such as police, nurse, and student uniforms.
These pieces of clothing enhance role playing
and allow participating parties to really get into the scene.
One needs to invest time and money for this but it can lead to amazing sex.

Uniform play can pay off big time when done right.
A sex scene such as this requires the right amount of preparation and the right place.
Location is an important component of effective uniform play.
It adds to the ambience,
and guarantees that the act is done within a safe and conducive space.

Tawse

The tawse is a tool of corporal punishment that was historically used
on school children to enforce discipline.
In the BDSM community,
the tawse is used to reinforce the relationship dynamics
between a submissive and a Dominant.
This whip consists of a strip of leather with multiple tails on an end.
This device of discipline might also be referred to as a belt.

The tawse is a whip that was often used in Scotland and England
before it was abolished in the 1980s.
This whip is now often used in BDSM.
Made of solid leather with multiple tails on one end,
it can be used for a flogging during a BDSM encounter.
To ensure safety,
it is good to discuss comfort and boundaries when using corporal punishment.

Strappado - Bondage

Strappado bondage is type of bondage
in which a person has their arms bound behind their backs and are then lifted upwards
until the person is forced to bend forward to maintain the position.

This position can enhance the pleasure and/or pain inherent in BDSM play
as the position can be manipulated to leave the bound individual more vulnerable.

Strappado bondage can be altered to achieve different styles
of this particular type of BDSM play.

The different styles include:

 Legs apart, or spread wide
 Legs together
Head pulled forward by use of rope
Head bondage to pull head back
 Elbows bound together

Due to the stress of this position on the body,
it is recommended that this position not be held for extended periods of time.

This definition was written in the context of BDSM

Resistance Play

Resistance play is a type of sexual play that involves
one partner "resisting" another partner's sexual advances.
This may go as far as the Dominant partner pretending
to force the submissive partner to have sex.
Individuals who enjoy resistance play either surrender control
or are the one in control depending on whether they are
 the submissive or Dominant partner.
Another allure of resistance play for submissive partners
is the feeling of being so irresistible to another person
that the person must have them no matter what.
Acting out rape fantasies between consenting adults
is the most popular type of resistance play.

Resistance play can be a great way
to spice up a boring sex life or just explore a fantasy.
Couples can use props during play such as fake knives or toy guns.
The submissive partner can be restrained
 to add to the fantasy.
Resistance play is also a great time for both partners to dress up.
Before participating in any type of resistance play,
you and your partner should discuss the matter first.
Boundaries should be discussed, and a safeword should be established.
Both,
 the submissive and Dominant partners
should understand that, when this word is uttered by either one of them at any time,
all play should stop immediately.
Afterward, both partners should take some time to unwind and reconnect
since resistance play is often a very intense emotional experience.

that sounds like it could be interesting...
i never tryed resistance play yet,

Queening Stool

A queening stool is a low stool or seat that can be placed over a person's face
to allow for oral stimulation of the vagina or anus.
The seats of these stools are usually U-shaped,
and are designed for a woman to perch with her legs on either side of the U
and her buttocks on the back of the U.
These stools are usually built with comfort in mind,
and the seat of a queening stool is usually padded and there is a support
just under the stool for the person on the bottom to rest their head on.

Queening stools are used during acts of queening,
a sexual practice that involves a Dominant female
sitting over a submissive partner's face.
This practice is common in Femdom relationships,
and can be used by a woman to assert her dominance or humiliate her submissive.
It can also, however,
be used purely for sexual satisfaction and vanilla couples shouldn't dismiss them.
Using a queening stool is often a more comfortable way to give and receive oral sex.
Also, when a woman sits on a queening stool,
she is better able to relax her pelvic muscles,
which can expose more delicate and sensitive areas of the labia.
